Who cares about harvest?

On Sunday we will celebrate harvest. Gentlemen, please park your tractors in an orderly fashion along the Stockport Road and ladies, milk churns can be stored in the porch during the service. Mmm. It’s a very long time since Levenshulme left its agricultural past – long before our church even opened in 1861. But that doesn’t mean we are any less connected to the earth which sustains us – indeed our demands on our natural resources are greater than ever before. But fear not, our service will not be a recycled guilt-trip but instead a celebration of all that’s good about our abundant planet and the enjoyment we can have in looking after it.

Bring something to show or share! If you would like to bring in some produce you have grown, or perhaps your favourite food from the supermarket to show-and-tell, or some tins or other dried food to give to our local food bank, or perhaps a financial gift for TearFund’s harvest campaign then please do. We will have a special time in the service when we can share God’s abundant generosity to us with others. 10am. Sunday!
